Accessibility

Implemented accessibility standards and guidelines in my product designs and portfolio.

The future is present

Product

At Deutsche Telekom, everyone involved in the product creation process - designers, content authors, developers, and more - is committed to ensuring digital accessibility. We strive to make websites and apps that are inclusive for people with disabilities, adhere to international standards, and deliver a better user experience for everyone. We design with equal consideration for all individuals, taking into account their unique needs. Our approach incorporates sustainability, accessibility, and clear ethical principles. Our Design System features only accessible components, and while all UX/UI Designers are trained in accessibility, we also have specialised roles, such as Accessibility Experts within our design teams. These experts apply their knowledge and testing methods to ensure that our final products meet all accessibility criteria.

Design

In a world where websites are often overloaded with unnecessary features and flashy animations, clear design stands out by prioritizing the user experience. I don't follow trends with complex designs; instead, I choose simplicity and focus. By stripping away distractions and keeping the design straightforward, I create user journeys that are clear and effective. True design power lies in restraint - understanding your audience and designing for them, not for myself or other designers. Inspired by Danish design, my approach reflects the clean, functional, and modern aesthetic that is at the heart of their design philosophy.

Portfolio

After earning my W3Cx: Introduction to Web Accessibility certificate, I was eager to apply this knowledge beyond my work. Without a portfolio at the time, I decided to create one that was fully compliant with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). My portfolio is accessible across different device types, adhering to international accessibility standards set by the W3C Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI).
